Our Approach
Black Tomahawk Farm is a boarding farm designed for horses who do best with consistency and predictable routines. We are not a lesson barn, training facility, or high-traffic operation. Our setting supports horses settling in and maintaining a steady day-to-day rhythm.

Owners are always welcome to come out, spend time with their horses, and enjoy low-key riding. Our focus on flat work and connection, rather than jumping or speed events, supports a calm, well-managed environment for horses and riders alike.

We live onsite and are present every day. Horses are checked daily, routines are kept consistent, and changes in behavior or health are noticed quickly. Care is hands-on and attentive, without trying to manage a large or rotating program. The property is naturally peaceful, with open pasture, mature shade trees, secure fencing, and both stall and run-in options.

We offer full-board stall and pasture (run-in) boarding, with the same level of care regardless of how a horse is housed. Black Tomahawk Farm tends to be a good fit for owners who want a place where their horse can relax, receive consistent care, and not be part of a busy schedule.

We focus on clear communication and dependable care, creating a setting where both horses and owners know what to expect.
Our Story
Black Tomahawk Farm is the result of a long-held dream finally coming to life. After years of talking about it, this chapter allowed us to bring that idea home and build something thoughtful on our own land.

Our decision to offer boarding grew out of the care and responsibility we learned through our personal horse experiences, along with a desire to create a small operation shaped by intention rather than scale.

With our kids now grown and away at college, we’re able to focus our time and energy on building a place that reflects our values: patience, consistency, and genuine respect for horses. Black Tomahawk Farm is a reflection of that approach: simple, deliberate, and always centered on doing right by the horses in our care.
